I got a pleasant piece of mail not too long ago from my baby bro… usually I get bills, netflix, or some ish i bought (which I still consider a bill cuz it aint free lol)… he sent me some of his Air Jordan drawings. The lil homie is obsessed with Jordan (my fault lol)… he has like 1000 drawings in his room.

The dope thing about these to me are that they all are based on the same wedge outline, but he goes into detail on each individual feature of the specific model he’s drawing, its looking like he’s making his own models now lol. Check my lil homie out.

Foo now that you’re up there now, you gotta get him in shape.

As most know, I’m a sneakerhead, not a fanatic, but my collection is certified; I’ve been having trouble these past few years finding current Nikes that I actually liked. I wasn’t alone in that feeling as many sneakerheads expressed the same frustration, as exhibited when the homie Chuck Rich wrote (on my blog www.atypicalsole.com) about his disdain towards Nike and their incessant need to release shitty hybrid Air Jordan’s, and not give the people real sneakers…

…That was 2008 though; so far in 2009 Nike is coming with the heat for the real sneakerheads. Taking things back to exclusivity instead of the mass produced BS that they keep pumping out for FootLocker and Finishline. I think it’s safe to say that Nike is back on their $hit.

Nike is back to catering to the boutiques (shout out to Corporate and Motive807 they rep the mid markets to def), dropping limited edition joints that you actually have to look for… limited to the point that you don’t have to worry about seeing some lame cat that don’t even know what they got on, wearing the same kicks as you. Also at $200 a pop in a recession you get to squeeze out the pretenders lol or at least the ones with their priorities straight, haha because you have to be crazy to pay that for some shoes… I’M CRAZY THOUGH, LMAO

Enough chatter… I present you the Eggplant Foamposite, the Nike Air ½ Cent, and the Air Yeezy

The Eggplant Foams dropped last month and got snapped up within hours (I’m salty I slept on em… If you can find a pari between $200 and $275 holla at me).

The Air ½ Cent which has been on a staggered drop, starting last week through this week (cant wait till they drop in the Nati, I’m all over em) have been making waves since pics of Wale wearing them hit the net. For those that don’t know these are a hybrid of all the dopest Penny (Anfernee Hardaway) sneakers Nike made back in the 90’s.

Last but not least, we have the Air Yeezy, the Grey joints are rumored to start dropping next week RUMOR (the other 2 dropping each subsequent month). The Yeezys have been burning up the net since last year when pics of Kanye West (these are his signature shoe if you didn’t know) wearing them during the GITD Tour. These will get the most press because of t he artist attached so if you want a pair I suggest you get in touch with your local boutique owner… Word on the street is the shop owners don’t even know which shops will get them, because they are Nike Quickstrike… IE Nike will call the shop and make an offer then ship within 48 hours so that lets you know how tough it’ll be to cop. Better make some friends lol.

I’m super psyched; I haven’t been excited about a 3 month span of Nike releases since high school so things are def looking good. For all the people out there that really buy sneakers (not just talk about it) and have been doing so for years (not just when u graduated college) the good old days are back lol.

Nike is retro(ing) the Nike Air Mowabb and the Nike Wildwood (NO HOMO) Premium ACG’s, and guess what… I still got my originals…

I remember copping the Mowabb joint as some obscure store in SOHO NYC back in 04 (if im not mistken) and the Wildwoods years ago for $40 at FootAction lol….

The funny thing about the Wildwoods is that I bought them from the homie Matt (current owner of Corporate) when he was over at FootAction. I only copped em so I could meet gold status criteria in order to get the Playoff 12’s held so I didn’t have to wait in line… and the Wildwood turned into one of my favorite shoes in my collection lol.

I’m talking about ACG’s because I want cats to recognize that there are dope sneakers outside of A1’s, Dunks (for all you trend humpers, if ur Dunks were produced after 2006 take em back lol), or Jordans (especially all these wack ass hybrids).

I might pass on the Wildwood’s but the Mowabbs are a must have in my book. Hopefully they use the soft premium leather that mine have not that synthetic ish that Nike loves to use these days.

So after 85 pair of sneakers, I have been gearing up to go on a one year hiatus from collecting (after coping the 11/12 countdown pack next saturday of course)… and its been going well because i havent seen any must haves… until now.

Somebody call A&E and sign me up for Intervention cause come spring when they drop… i gotta have em

The date is November 25, 2008 and its nearly a full month before winter begins and I am grouchy already! Ok, I am not really that grouchy yet, but if I was still in my hey day of kick copping I would have a reason to be grouchy after seeing what shiggdy will be dropped on 12.26.2008. Once again JB is gettiing their Braylon Edwards (dropping the ball lol) once again with the release of the 12/11 pack as a finale in the Collectzione packages that began last winter. Before I write about my displeasure with JB’s December 26th release, I will say the packages are not such a bad idea, as it gives collectors a chance to cop childhood favorites such as the 16/7 package seen here:

There were some that had one hot pair and the other pair be WACK! Such as the 21/2 seen here: package seen here:

These were both wack quality wise and sold so bad that a Cincinnati based kick store placed them on sale with in 2 weeks of them dropping. I don’t wanna say their name cause they could get in some trouble lets just say their motto is “Everybody Knows…” LMAO! …Ok, back to the post…

After much anticipation for the 12/11 pack the pics came out this past week, and to my shock and dismay JB drops the OG white/black and taxi. WTF!!! [editor’s note: I (NUDY) fux wit these lol]

These were already released in a low top version in 2005 and now again in 2008 and people are supposed to go spend their money in this recession on those! No freaking way!

…but why not the white/red 12s which have not been released to my knowledge? I guess this is what we have to deal with from the JBs nowadays, I so I must deal with it. If I had plans on copping, that would have steered me the other way, I could use that $310 on a down-payment for a ring (what up B lol) or My high a** DirecTV bill(had to censor it my mom reads this lol) Lemme know what you think.

As I sit in a my cubicle and take a deep sigh and look at the clock on my computer and it only reads 4:01 p.m, I stop tying and think to myself… DAMN! Its only a little after 4:00 and I am supposed to be here until  six, and its Friday… It aint happening LOL. Enough of me and my boring life, back to business… 

I’ve been wanting to vent about this for a long time but just have been too lazy to do so, now I will (Yes I will be brief this time NUDY I promise!), but what’s grinding my gears is the lack of creativity that is being displayed at the Jordan Brand with all of these hybrid kicks. Yes my fellow kicksters I know they are called fusions but no matter which way you put it these kicks are becoming worse and worse by the model. Correct me if I am wrong but the first shoe of the hybrid craze was the Dub-Zero pictured here: 

Not a bad kick and somewhat innovative, but now this shiggdy is going too far with the hybrid Jordan 6 which is set to drop sometime in 2009 pictured here:

Now these do not suck as bad as the rest, but it still LACKS the Creativity OR Spunk that makes you say “I MUST HAVE THESE” like kicks of the past i.e sig releases (haha check my last post).
